Complete some initial research into a long form TV show of your choice the following questions.  
Next week you will be asked to write this up into a keynote or powerpoint presentation (you will be able to use clips and images so save anything which is useful)


P1: Learners select an audio-visual media product that they are interested in making.
They analyse similar existing products for the following:

a) purpose  what is point of the TV show you have chosen? entertainment (etc) how is it supposed to make the audience feel?

b) form and style  -  length, narrative elements, atmosphere/mood,  themes? 

c) content - key action, key characters, place/setting,  type of shots, sound  . . . 

d) meaning - What messages does the show convey?  What does it say about society?  political . .  social commentary . . .morals . . 

e) genre  Does the show fit in to a genre or have influence (TV or Film or other)?  Does the program bring new ideas to an existing genre? 

f ) target audience - Who is the show aimed at?  Can you find TV ratings? 

g) frequency  How often is the show on?  How often will people watch it?  Do you have to watch it all for it to make sense or can you dip in and out? 

h) production process  -  What can you find out about the way long for TV is made?
